Pragmatic Functional Programming in Perl

Last month's presentation by Mark Allen introduced many functional programming topics and showed how they could be applied to solving problems. He showed many of these techniques using functional programming languages that specialize in these techniques.

This month, G. Wade Johnson reviewed some of these concepts and then applied them directly to Perl code. He showed how these techniques are already available to you, once you realize how they apply. The audience asked lots of really good questions and seemed to be understanding how these techniques used the concepts from last month in code that they knew how to use.

The discussion was quite lively and caused an already long presentation to run longer. Overall, the attendees seemed to enjoy the talk.

We had 9 people attending this month. As always, we'd like to thank cPanel, Inc. for providing the meeting space and food for the group.
