Houston.pm July Hack-a-thon
This month we decided to try something different (for Houston.pm) and hold a hack-a-thon. Unlike the last attempt we made, we did not designate a particular project we were going to work on. Instead, everyone was encouraged to bring their own projects and either work on it or help others who had questions.
There was quite a bit of non-programming discussion, and a few groups working on code projects. There was at least one serious design discussion and two groups where a more experienced person was training a less experienced one.
All in all, it appeared to be a successful event. We started a bit earlier than usual and the group also began to break up earlier than normal. (Although some of us stayed really late.)
We had 10 people attending this month. As always, we'd like to thank cPanel, Inc. for providing the meeting space and food for the group.
